FAQ5. Why is Acupuncture safe?
Despite the common paranoia of needles, Acupuncture is remarkably safe with only rare occurrences of side effects (see Informed Consent page).
An Acupuncture needle is much thinner than a hypodermic needle.
Acupuncture needles are have solid shafts and do not hold fluid like a hypodermic needle.
Acupuncture needles that I use are sterile, single use and come in various lengths for various applications. The widths are thin, thinner and very thin.
After their use in one patient, acupuncture needles are safely disposed of in special biohazard containers and not used again.
Acupuncture stimulates the body natural energy pathways without adding foreign chemicals into the body.
